Sakiko Nomura (b.1967, in Yamaguchi) has been taking the pictures of male nude for nearly twenty years since very early period of her career.
She includes her representative male nude and more in the book. Although her photographs are often taken in the darkened or dimly lit rooms, she gazes the subjects essentially, such expression has become her signature style.
‘Kuroyami (Black Darkness)’ is consisted of photographs of models taken in hotel rooms and snapshots taken on the street. Both of them are sequenced to show alternately.
The delicate texture of paper flavored rich black ink, is reflecting sensitive contrast and sensual atmosphere.
Light and shadow appearance are emphasized cause of really blackness technically, we can be lead better to realize again what she desires to persue and express us in photography.
